We now hear that the entire contents of Malsis School are being auctioned off this week (online if desired) -therefore it won't be long before the lovely old building is up for sale -and as Malsis Hall Grade II listed 1866- was at one time Sutton Hall - but has lately been moved into Glusburn Parish- is/was it a listed building in Sutton, or a listed building in Glusburn/Cross Hills Parish?? Cowling now has 2 of its listed buildings with all their rich history associated with Cowling - now in Lothersdale? Do hope that CDCouncil and English Heritage will sort all this confusion out asap.

The alteration to the parish/ voting boundary’s was initiated to regulate the population distribution in the wards and parishes. If this statement is correct then why has the portion of land known as Sutton Fields with no dwellings /voters been transferred from Sutton to Glusburn. Or are other clandestine motives at work here.

Oh No! - how sad is that - such a beautiful building, almost an icon.

An older friend has said - would be a good idea for NYCC to purchase the building and some land for another school or similar -eg. instead of Glusburn School which is in such a busy area and has big parking problems. (Not much chance with present cutbacks don't think, but a good suggestion.)
