The South Craven Elderly Initiative Group is made up of volunteers, who normally meet, on the second Monday in the month, at the Sutton in Craven Community Centre, North Street, Sutton in Craven.

They put on two Road Shows each year, in the Spring and Autumn, as may be seen in the photographs below. Each Road Show has 12 to 16 stands which are manned by various organisations considered to be of interest to the elderly or relevant to the aims of the Group.

These help to inform people about benefits, security, policing, fire & safety, healthy eating and living, voluntary groups involved with specific ailments and health issues and many more.

These events are very popular and well attended, particularly by Sutton residents.

The Group also has representatives on other local and national bodies to keep abreast with current information and activities and to put forward the views of elderly people in our community.
