ANZAC Day
I'ts a special day for Australia and New Zealand today - so a big hello to any Suttoners living in either spot. We went to the dawn service and the closest parking was 20minutes walk away - such a lot of people, young and old. There seems to be more every year. Even William and Kate got up early to go to the one in Canberra - not part of their scheduled official duties either. - Lest We Forget. |

Hi Brenda,
There was a big turnout at Melbourne's many thousands and it was cold, but a glorious day for the ANZAC Parade. I sat and watched the parade and spent most of the morning and afternoon watching the services at various places such as Gallipoli, Lone Pine and Villers Brettoneux as well.
I love watching and listening to the Pipe Bands. When I was in TAFE I redesigned and made quite a few fabrics for various Bands around Australia, a couple of which are regulars at the parade. I get quite a sense of pride when I see them marching in the Parade. |
