Lund Parker and Hog Royd House, Victoria St
Hi, I've just bought a Great War medal pair to Pte Lund Parker who served with the West Yorkshire Regiment and the Machine Gun Corps.

Lund was born at Sutton Mill on 24th January 1897 with the 1901 census showing he lived at 10 Victoria St, Sutton and the 1911 census showing he lived at Hog Royd House, Victoria St, Sutton.

Does anybody know anything about this Hog Royd House? I've never heard of it!

Incidentally, Lund lived to the ripe old age of 93 passing away in November 1990 in the registration district of Staincliffe.

He had previously married Ada Bailey in 1922 in the registration district of Skipton, so perhaps he moved away from Sutton at that time or maybe even before the war because his name does not appear on the St Thomas' Church Roll of Honour listing the 250 or so volunteers from the local Sutton community.

Did anyone happen to know or remember Lund Parker? I'm always curious to learn more about Sutton recipients of Great War medals in my collection.

Many thanks in advance :-)
