Lovely example of old Sutton. Had this property been on the market not that long ago? Only one problem, a bit close to the Kings Arms, a bit tempting!

Gorgeous, isn't it? The present owners have done a great job - just wish I could afford it! And, yes, I could cope very well with its close proximity to the Kings - my favourite pub!

I am amazed to see that the Victoria plum tree still stands to the left of the entrance porch, although now somewhat reduced in size. The tree, which appears on a photograph dated 1910, used to produce a few delicious plums when I was a boy. I don't know what age a plum tree can reach, but this one must be the oldest in the village. Let's hope the new owners will continue to look after it.
