"Dee loves Andy"
We are back in for our annual 'fix' of Sutton-in-Craven. I been a regular visitor all my life, over 50 years my father Denis, and uncle Alan, both grew up here and are regular contributors to this forum. As far back as I can remember, there has always been a bit of graffitti on the wall under the Home Lane sign at the junction with Main Street at Crosshills which reads, "Dee loves Andy". As a child, it was one of the 'landmarks' I looked out for, knowing that when we saw that, we were not far from Grandma's house in Bent Lane.
The thing that amazes me is that this graffiti is still there after at least 40 years, and even looks as if it has been repainted. I wonder who Dee and Andy were, and if they know their names are still on that wall after such a long time.

Hi John, (Dee Loves Andy) should read Ebby Loves Cunny,it was written by two school girls from Skipton, aimed at two Sutton lads R Hebden & D Cunliffe, when it was written it was just Ebby Cunny but a youth called Bond, not James added the Loves in the middle. Tale as told by D Cunliffe Sutton In Craven.
