Thompson's Field application refused!

After a three and a half hour planning meeting, seven out of 10 councillors voted to refuse the application.

The developer will no doubt appeal, but it's a great victory - well done to everyone involved, there were some excellent representations by the Parish Council, objectors and our local and North Yorkshire councillors.

Good news so far. My thanks to all who helped close to the action from we, who are so far from the action! Keep it up.

Stunning victory! Very well done to all who attended and helped to overturn this massive housing development proposal right in the heart of the village :-)

Great outcome to the meeting.but I've a feeling they will keep pushing until they get it. Where I live in Glusburn the same situation happened with the green lane development. It was refused 3 times in the past by planning inspectors only finally this may to have outline planning permission granted for 49 dwellings,by a new planning inspector . Hopefully the Sutton in craven development will never happen but the locals thought the same about the Glusburn development .does anyone know if the planners are going to appeal the decision? .

I was also at the meeting - Great outcome but like others I am sure it won't be the end of this.
Can I just say a personal Thank You to the speakers who represented the village, the effort you have put into collating your information must of taken a great deal of your time and your passion came through, I would never of been able to present the case so well and I want you to know how much I appreciated what you did. Thank You.

Was there at the meeting and very impressed with all the people who spoke on behalf of the village, there was a great turn out and togetherness.
People power in a village like ours still shows we have heart and passion in our countryside.
Well done to every one and let's enjoy the beauty of this great village of ours.
