John Walton Sutton Baptist Church
I live in Sutton, and run a local family history Group at Crosshills Library before COVID-19 that is. One of my members and friend is a relation of John Walton Baptist Minister who was born 1754 died 1819. His ancestor Henry Hudson married Johns daughter Elizabeth at Sutton Baptist. does anyone know where John and his family would have lived at this time I know he had about ten children, his son Nathaniel Walton also became a Baptist Minister in I think Cowling. Also does anyone have any information about Henry Hudson who was born in sutton his son George born Sutton 1804. the Hudsons moved to Keighley before 1820, but I do not have any information on The Hudsons when they lived in Sutton. Was Walton Street named after John Walton does anyone know. Thank you in anticipation Elaine Polshaw

I believe that both Walton and Wighill Street were named after two villages near Wetherby. The Bairstow's who built the houses in Holmefield had connections with the villages through marriage.

Hello Paul, saw the request for the Walton family. Is it possible to get in touch with Elaine and give her my details so see if I can help her.
Not sure if you knew my son Mark Wilson, he was the webmaster of Cowling web, but he passed away 15th May aged 50yrs in Bedfordshire.
I'm not doing too much family history, I'm losing my sight and can only manage to get onto the computer on 30 minute sittings.
My phone number is 01274 973978
