Thank you David - and the rest of the Village Committe - for all your hard work this year. We don't always remember to say a thank you. Your efforts at the Fun Day, Bonfire, and Christmas Decorations (to name but three) are really appreciated and help to make this village a truly wonderful community, We look forward to seeing the Christmas lights lit.

Yes indeed. The lights help to make the village look absolutely beautiful at this time of year.

I love all the Christmas trees on the houses too. We've ordered ours ..... can't wait until it goes up next weekend!

In response to the question from 'Me' - i cannot comment on the christmas lights in Crosshills and Glusburn as they are organised by their Parish Council.

As such they are not linked in with our Christmas Lights in Sutton - in - Craven which are provided by Sutton Village Committee using Volunteer raised monies.

To all in Sutton,
We may be overseas in the opposite climate to you, but we/I always remember the real Christmas as it used to be when we were young'ns with all the decorations etc. We have too many so called "politically correct" d--- heads here who don't want the kids at kindy/school to sing carols, mention the word Christmas or Christmas parties etc. Just in case it might upset the minority groups whilst they are thinking about who to blow up next!!!!!!!!! Ba Humbug.

Hi, I was brought up in Sutton and lived in Park Avenue. My dad was Colin Coulton and he was involved in the village committee from the start and reading about the Christmas lights brings back memories as I think they were started during his time. Can anyone remember my dad or my mum who was called Rose Coulton and she was known for the good teas she put on in the park pavilion. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers our family.
