J Eric Hall's films of Yorkshire / Mrs Joan Tindale
Hello,

Hope you don't mind an outsider intruding on your forum.

I'm researching the history of my local town, Shipley, and came across some wonderful amateur films by J Eric Hall, made in the 1950s.

Mr Hall's Knur & Spell film turned up on YouTube, along with the name of Mrs Joan Tindale, hence my post here. Apologies if there's no connection.

To cut a long story short, we have a film in Bradford Central Library entitled Operation Progress, documenting the rebuilding of Shipley, but cannot trace Mr Eric Hall or his descendants to seek permission to show the film etc.

Hoping Mrs Tindale may have some leads for me...

Many thanks
Ian

Hi Ian. You might also try the Cowling web site (see 'Neighbours' section on the links page), Joan lives in Cowling and is active on the Cowlingweb messageboard. They also have their own local history group called Moonrakers so between them should be able to give you some answers.
