Hi Tony,
Sorry to hear of Peter's Passing. I have many great memories of him, especially our times we spent in the "Black Hut" down at New Laithe farm.
Yes he was a great character and a good actor too. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. R.I.P. Peter. from Oz.

Especially sad when someone ones own age and former class mate dies, what a character! I remember him having a Yul Brynner hair cut (shaved head) in his teens. This area has lost a real celebrity.

Some of my memories of Peter are of him being a projectionist at ‘Charlie’s Picture House, and him missing the change over (on purpose) when his mates were in.They wold stamp there feet and shout, ARMITAGE. Also he would get up on stage and sing with the band at Skipton Town Hall and St Thomas,s Hall, when he’d had a few ??????. Lots of memories, R I P Peter.

HI Alan,I remember Pete telling the story of the Yul Brynner. He had taken bets at work that he would not dare have one ,having taken bets for a total of something like a pound, he paid 2bob for the hair cut and made 18 bob profit, unfortunately he then had to pay 22 shillings for a hat to keep his head warm so ended up 4bob worse off.
