Hi David, I wonder if we could be related in some way? my Mothers maiden name was Dryden, and we have a cousin who is buried in sutton churchyard, seems a coincidence, my mothers brother was called Robert (Bob) who lived in sutton, my Mother was called Mary, and her husband was George Harrison.

Hi, Sara,
Just browsing the Sutton website and saw your message.
I left Sutton 50 years ago but some names ring a bell.
There was a George Harrison worked at William Hartley's when I was an apprentice there - he worked in the mechanic's shop.
I think he organised a yearly trip to Belle Vue that me and my mum and dad and sister, Janet, always went on.
Do you think it's the same George Harrison ?

hi david, yes that is my family, originally they lived at the knott farm which is the place you were thinking of on sutton lane, that was my mum, dad, grandma and grandad, and my sister ann and brother terry, they moved to eastburn just before i was born, i remember visiting uncle bob with my mum when i was very young and i am sure i can remember playing with a boy in the front garden which was probably you, but i didn't think it was harker street, did you move to holme lane? we must be cousins if your dad was my mothers brother, how nice to find you on here, my sister ann will be able to tell you much more about the family than i can she is older than me and probably has some old photos too, we will have to keep in touch now, i don't know how to get you e mail address but will put mine on here although i don't know if the site will show it, it is, saraoc19 at btinternet dot com

Hi Sara. I've changed '@' to ' at ' and '.' to ' dot ' in your email address to prevent it being harvested by spambots, and sent an email to you and David with each others email address. Paul

Hi David glad you are enjoying the site, Spoke to my dad and he thinks Grandad Clough had a brother but may not be the same surname as his mum was married several times, guess it will be hard to find out.
