Walks in the area..?
Hi. Just wondered if anyone knows of any good not strenuous hill walks or woods etc around sutton area. I love walking and wildlife watching and would appreciate some good ideas. Anyone up for a general walk up the hills maybe or woodland walk sometime (when not working) im in need of a good guide....

Hi Judith. There's a booklet called CowlingWay containing local walks, details at

www.cowlingweb.co.uk/cowlingway

Some local walks are also listed on the Cowlingweb home page.

If you're feeling adventurous and have a loud alarm clock, Cross Hills Naturalists' Society is having a ramble at the Pinnacles to see the solstice sunrise. They are meeting in the Co-op car park at 3.30AM tomorrow morning (Sunday 22nd) and driving up to the crag.

STOP PRESS. I've just heard the ramble to see the solstice sunrise has been cancelled due to the poor weather forecast.
