Sutton Fun Day
Many Thanks to SVC for a fantastic fun day - Well Done to all who contributed. However I am somewhat bemused by Fun Planets attempt at getting people away from the village fun by handing out free entry tickets valid for today only!

On reflection, you could be right, we wanted to give something free, free sweets, costume characters and free passes. If we had given free passes at the venue to temp people into not going that would have been wrong, my thoughts and my Managers was to offer something for on the way home to tire the children out. The feedback we had on the day was its too nice to go inside, and I can agree with that, as I was too spending money at the fun day, but the free tickets weren’t meant to offend anybody. I think sometimes you can read too much into things, i.e is it wrong for local takeaways to stay open to detract from people spending money on food at the fun day?
And lastly we play a major part in the community for all of you with children, we support you, is it wrong to expect local support back? After all we sponsor, we offer free entrance for community groups, and how many villages have one of the most extensive and best family entertainment centres on their doorstep (which isn’t council funded)
If anybody has any questions or comments about this, I am happy to respond personally, my email address is md@fun-planet.co.uk

Hi Martin. I agree I think it was too nice for anyone to want to play indoors - my kids included.

I dont think any one was realy having a go - I wasnt - I can understand from your point of view that you are damned if you do and damned if you dont do a bit of promotion. I think it was good that you also wanted to be part of the parade, there were a lot of local businesses who didnt take part.

Any chance of a discount scheme for local residents (certain postcodes)? See I can be a bit cheeky also! :)

I must say I admired the poor person who dressed up and walked the parade route - I was hot walking it and wasnt wearing a fury costume! They deserve a promotion.

Thanks for supporting the day.

I agree and second Martin Sinclair as the manager of Fun Planet and organiser of the event, no offence was intended at all about the free tickets it was a last min idea to offer something other than the sweets like everyone else. It makes me a little sad when people think the worst of you when you are only trying to build community spirit. Mr Bilbs thank you for your response and support. We do have a lot of discount schemes already running. None specificially to post code, but we can chat about it. You are quite right the Aliens did a great job I for one as a mum am really proud of what we do at fun planet, we see happy children everyday and that in my book is worth its weight in gold.

Hope it is as sucessfull next year

allo, was wondering if Sutton Fun Day and Sutton gala are now one and the same, or does Sutton still have its annual gala as well?

The show was great! and it was also a very nice gesture of Fun Planet to offer free tickets! We apreciate having such a good local venue for our children.
