YPF reunion.
I was told on Thursday morning that the YPF had held a reunion a few days ago. I would have liked to have attended but was not aware. Was it a success and are there any photos which could be displayed on this website? My memories of the organisation are many and fond. Hope that someone can help.

Alan,

To bring you up to date, about 4 years ago a couple of former YPF members decided they wanted a 60's night to celebrate, I believe, a special birthday. They hired Sutton Village Hall and a caterer and invited their current and past friends.

A great time was had by all, during which it became apparent that most of those assembled used to be in the YPF, so further get-togethers were thought to be a good idea. In typical YPF style, nobody wanted to organise one, until the couple aforementioned asked if anyone was interested in meeting for dinner one night. Sufficient numbers were interested to fill a couple of tables in a private room in a local restaurant. I believe there has been a winter and summer dinner before the recent event, which was a lunch and will probably be the format going forward on a once per year basis. 35 people attended the recent one.

Your idea of putting photos in the gallery (Paul permitting) is a good one, but they were taken by individuals rather than collectively, but can probably be gathered up.

If the mention of photos was for you to see who attended, you have to take into account that the YPF is now many decades old in one form or another and most members also knew the members one decade above and below their own. That formula doesn't work forever! so the spread realistically covers a couple of decades. Peter and Rita Barsby were probably the only ones of your vintage, but people like Stuart Wilson and Terry Greenwood and no doubt several others that you know attend.

The reason for me going into this detail is that if any more former members and followers of this website are interested, I suggest you post on this thread and someone will find a way of getting in touch with you.

Howard,
Not sure if you have seen the YPF list I sent, which was posted in the 1990 Gallery.

Thanks David. I had forgotten that the list was posted on this site. It was me that compiled the database and wrote the invitation letter because I recall me being the only one with a computer at the time! Email and text messaging are the main methods of communication, so the list doesn't help in that regard, but it's a good nostalgic document according to the YPF-OAP's!
