Major C.J. Barraclough, Brush Farm
Looking for anyone with any information on whereabouts of Major C.J. Barraclough and his wife Vera. They lived at Brush Farm untill 1990 but seem to have disappeared!

Hi Stephen

Could i ask if you have any history or Photos of Brush Farm, We are looking for a William Upton who lived there around 1927 - 1929-30. The story is that he had to sell because of foot and mouth (not sure if thats true?)

Hope you find your Mr and Mrs Barraclough.

thanks Kerry

Brush Farm was derelict for many years, we used to go up from the village and play in it during the late 1950's and early 1960's. The last occupant was known to us as 'Willy Whiskers'. The late Fred Pye, who was a mine of information on village history, told me that it had once been an inn as well as a farm. He said that the inn sign had been a fox's brush, hence the name. I seem to recall that it was renovated about the mid 1970's.
