John Brian Wilcock
Some of you may remember the Wilcock family who lived in Hazel Grove prior to emigrating to Canada in 1948. Brian, who was the last of the family to survive, died a few days ago. This notice appeared in the Vancouver Sun.

John "Brian" Wilcock
September 22, 1933 - February 10, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. John 'Brian' Wilcock on Feb 10, 2019 at the age of 85. Brian was born to Ruby and George Wilcock on September 22, 1933 in Yorkshire, England. On June 15, 1948, he and his family embarked on the Aquitania from South Hampton, England to Canada where Brian would start a new life. He graduated in 1954 from Bishops University and went on to graduate from McGill University as a Dentist in 1959. It was there he met Sonya, the love of his life. Brian & Sonya married on June 27, 1959. They eventually settled in Burnaby where Brian set up private practice. Brian had a love for curling, golf, cricket and spending many memorable years with his family at their summer home in the Okanagan. There were many good times and great vacations there with his wife and kids. Brian is predeceased by his parents, brother Peter, sister Christine and his wife, Sonya. Survived by his four children, Deborah (Joe), Christopher (Tracy), Douglas (Linda) and Gayle (Robert) and six grandchildren, Mikaela, Ryan, Carly, Keegan, Emma and Jessalyn. He will be dearly missed. Family gathering at a later date.
