Hi Kerry. The 1901 census may give you some clues. Searching for the surname "Upton" brings up an entry for an address "Brush" in Sutton but I can't see any further details as credits are required to view. Paul

Hi Paul
Thanks for that, he only lived their for a few years, we have his death certificate but not sure where he was born, so i was following him back from 1930.

Many thanks for your time.

Hi Paul

Saw your reply to Kerry regarding the Upton entry for the 1901 Census.

I have access to all the Census years from 1841-1901 with ancestory.co
also have the St Catherines indexes, if you would reply to Kerry with the offer of me looking up anything that she needs I will be more than pleased to do this for her, also if you ever need anything checking from these indexes for yourself just let me know.

My husband and I indexed the gravestones in St Thomas churchyard a couple of years ago, and although the vicar has a copy of these, I have a copy as well.

Question to ask her would be what date did the father die, because on the death certificate it would give his age.

If it would be easier to let her have my email adddress so that she contact me direct that would fine.

Hi Josie
The man i am looking for was born around 1876 and not sure where, when we go looking in the 1881, 1891 and the 1901 census we get a few. We do know what he got up to after 1927. We no he lived at Brush Farm around 1927 - 1930 and he died 3 March 1952 in Barrowford Nelson, after sending off for his Death certificate, aged 76. We have been told he was Burried in Barrowford and could be grave 1. If we find this out it may give us his date of birth and then can send for his Birth Certificate for my friend.

Many thanks for your time

Hi Josie.

William Upton who died in 1952, did not have a Headstone.

Thanks Kerry
