Mary Elizabeth Lewis
Mary was born in 1880 at Lowfold Sutton to Annie Lewis an un married mother. Does anyone have the parish records for her baptism pls. Annie was a woosted weaver so could anyone tell me the mill that she worked at. I should like to see a picture of it and look at employment records if they still exist.

Thank you to anyone who could help in advance.

It is possible that Annie Lewis was a weaver at T & M Bairstow Ltd in Sutton Mill, who were the largest employers in the village. The records for the mill are held by West Yorkshire Archive Service at Nepshaw Lane, Morley, Leeds. Photographs of the mill can be found on the website gallery. However, there were other mills in the area and she may have worked in another village. I believe the baptism records for St Thomas's Church, Sutton are still held in the village by the vicar, Reverend Cowgill, he may be able to help you.
