This event poses several issues which concern me.

1. Should we be allowing vehicles into the park where children play?

2. Welfare of the grass area (I take it that it will be held on the football pitch) What will happen if the weather is bad and the ground is wet? Cars will churn up the grass.

3. Is this intended as a one-off?

I am all for raising money in support of the centenary celebrations, but I'm not sure the park should be used in this way.

I hope Anna Bretan can allay my fears!

Thank you Concerned Villager for your comments.

1. Vehicles are allowed in the park at other times e.g. Fun Day, and Cars will be positioned in such a way to have minimal impact on where children play.

2. On the morning of the event the weather and the state of the grass will be assessed and if felt it is too wet the event will be cancelled. I have taken advise from the park keeper re positioning of the cars.

3. This event is a pilot and will be assessed after to gauge respose both from buyers and sellers.

I hope this answers your concerns

Will you tell me who carried out the Health and Safety Risk Assessment for this event and where the Risk Assessment can be viewed?

I imagine it will cost more to arrange public liability insurance and marshall the event than the sellers car fees will raise.

Also, is a licence or planning permission required to hold a market in a public place?

Go for it, Anna, and I hope that your car boot sale is a resounding success. Why is it that concerned villagers always forget to identify themselves by name. I suppose it is just a sign of the times. If they spent less time knocking and a bit more time encouraging it would be a lot more use. Sorry that I cannot attend and support you.

ooh purleease!!!!!! Will these people just go and enjoy themselves at these events instead of hooting on. Did these " concerned residents" mash on when we had fun day......ooh, lots of moving vehicles there and some wizzy things that actually left the ground. What about insurance JUST in case we may choke on a hot dog or candy floss. Well done Anna and all the other people who work so hard in this village to put events on. Please don't be put off by these so called " concerners".Must go....just checking my public liability in case someone chokes on their beer!!!!8624
