Dogs near the ducks
Hi there. I am just asking anyone with a dog to please keep it on a lead when there are ducks around and especially when there are ducklings. I am only writing this following an incident at the beck when a dog killed a mother duck and therefore left 13 babies without a mother. I am truly sorry to all those people who are responsible dog owners and do keep their dogs under control. Please, write back if anyone wishes to air their views on this subject.

Just an update on the ducks.... all 13 are still doing fine and looking bigger than ever. They were rescued and are being very well looked after until it is time to flee the nest!

I'm a Sutton resident also rearing 3 ducklings, due to their mum being killed by a car.
They are all doing well and are almost ready for release now. Thanks for the update Dawn, it's nice to know that the 13 Sutton ducks are also doing well.

Is there anyway we can get some more ' Duck Warning signs ' as an extra reminder to careless drivers?

All this rain is great weather for ducks!

The rescued flock have all survived into grown into "stroppy teenagers" and are now ready for releasing into the big wildlife world of Sutton this week. Thanks to Mark who has cared for them as though they were his own!

Its nice to know that they will be being released soon and they've grown well. Lets hope that the dogs will stay away and let them grow up.

We should be called the 'Duck Defenders'. A lucky 13! Well done Mark, you must feel a proud dad to your ducks! Congratulations on rearing them all.

I was proud of my 3 ducks when they went back to the wild recently. To see your 13 ducks go free will make you very emotional, I nearly cried with happiness when my 3 went!

It makes all the work of rearing them feel worthwhile.
