Sutton Cricket Club. 2nd Team photo.
I have just been looking at the second team photo on the Cricket Club website and see a young man named Doane. Could this be the son, nephew or even brother of a Harry Doane? The physical resemblance is remarkable. If he is one of these, is Harry still about? (Just idle curiosity, not chasing him for money.) |

Thanks for the enquiry, yes I am the son of Harry Doane, who is alive and well and living in the Barnoldwsick area. Both my sons Simon and Steven play for Suttton 1st XI, whilst I myself am in cricketing retirement "again" (more come backs than Frank Sinatra).

Thanks for the information. I'm pleased to hear that your Dad is alive and kicking, albeight that he has emigrated over the border to Lancashire. Don't know if he will remember me but he will certainly remember Denis. Please tell him that Norman Butterfield was asking about him a few days ago when I spoke to him. Glad that you are a part of Sutton and showing support for the village Cricket team. Many names thatI knew have gone although there are still some familiar Sutton names amongst those on the photos.
