Season's Greetings
Just want to wish you all a Joyous Solstice/Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. Which ever, where ever and how ever, you choose to celebrate, I hope you'll enjoy it.

For me it'll be the first Christmas without my mum, which will seem very strange. But I know I was lucky to have her in good health and with a sharp mind for so long. Just wish I'd asked her exactly how she made trifle - that was always "her" job and I've an awful feeling that mine won't turn out as well....

Dear Hazel, Merry Christmas to you too. I'm sorry to hear about your mum, I knew she wasn't well, but didn't realise she had passed on. My deepest condolences to you. Liz xxx

Thank you, Liz. Mum died peacefully in her sleep on September 27th at the age of 93. She knew us all and was perfectly lucid right up to the end. Just simply faded away over the summer and died of old age. So, at her request, we had a church service (in Morley where she came from) to celebrate her long and happy life, rather than to mourn her passing. And, for someone of her age with very little family, it was remarkably well attended.
