David Baxter RIP
Readers will be saddened to hear of the death of David Baxter. David was well known in Sutton having been brought up at Bay Horse Farm in the village. His working life was spent at Woodrow's Mill in Junction and he was a past player, treasurer and the current President of Steeton Football Club. His association with the club began in 1948.
In more recent years David enjoyed meeting friends at the Pavilion in Sutton Park, chatting and admiring the views up to Ravenstones and the Pinnacle.
He was a good friend to many people and his cheerful presence will be missed.
His funeral service is in St Andrew's Church Kildwick on Wednesday 22nd November at 1pm, followed by cremation at Skipton.

Sad to read of the death of David Baxter. It's a long time ago now, going on for 75 years when a gang of us played cricket and soccer in the park after school and on Saturdays. I haven't seen him for such a long time but I remember him as a cheerful lad, skilled with a soccer ball and the cricket ball - a bit quicker than his brother Norman. Happy days!
