Vale: Allan Bracewell Laycock
It is with a sad heart that I have to notify web site members, of the passing of my elder Brother Allan, on Sunday 20th December, aged 92.
He passed away peacefully in Gloucester at 02-30.
His funeral is on 6th January at 12 noon, and will be live streamed.
Allan was well known as a landscape artist, and was a Member of The Royal West of England Art Academy.
Allan lived most of his working life away from his birthplace, so may not be as well known as some born in Sutton in Craven. His father was Donald who worked for most of his life at T&M Bairstows as foreman wool classer/sorter, his was mother Ada nee Bracewell Laycock.
In the last few years he has been unwell. It is a blessing that he passed away peacefully.

David,
Please accept my condolences. I was made aware of Alan's death by Denis earlier this week. He was one of the Sutton villagers that I remember quiet vividly along with yourself. We were all part of a small community, living in close proximity to one another.
Take care and keep contributing to the website.
Alan Pickles.

Thanks Alan for your condolences. Denis and I do keep in touch. I think you would have known Allan better than Denis. Keep safe and well. lets hoe the wishes for 2021 prove to be better than last year.
Best regards
David

David Laycock sent the following examples of his Brother Allan's work. Apart from the second one, they are from the Cotswolds where Allan has lived since 1977.
