1st Sutton in Craven Girl Guides
Great to see the photo of the wedding. I don't remember it at all but it looked a beautiful day and everyone looked happy. Front row 3rd from left is Jean Thackray(now Harrison) and back row extreme right is (I think)Jean Thompson who lived at the "butterfly house" very near to the chapel. I've moved away and haven't been back to Sutton since 2000 and that was only to visit my parents in Royd Hill so my memories are all from waaaaaaaay back. I'm quite startled to find that someone remembered my name (Freda Barrett) and the face to go with it! |

I do remember your name and you of course, are you still a shy lady? You also feature in some of the Baptist Sunday school concert pictures. Thanks for the names - it is really hard looking back so far, and as I knew all of you at the time I am quite embarrassed that I don't remember everyone's names. first names come to mind but the rest is very difficult - can you rack your brains for any other names?
As it is the 100 year anniversary of the Girl Guides I thought it a good time to produce the photo, I know there were others taken especially Glusburn gala day when we marched in the parade starting at Malsis Hall bridge, but I cant unearth them, I guess they are lost in time.

i am looking for any old pictures or memories of glusburn brownies? or sutton i was a brownie at sutton back in 1977's and a guide too. i now help run glusburn brownies and as its our centenary year, we are looking back at our history. can any one help!!! |

Re the Brownees at the Chapel. I reckon the girl on the front far right would be more likely to be my cousin Ann Conyers.
