Pond/Pond Water
We have just built a pond (wildlife not fish) and would like to add a bucket of water from a well established pond with spawn/tadpoles etc.. does anyone know of a local pond where we can get a bucket of water or anyone who has a pond willing to give us a bucket full and any NATIVE plants they may have .... thanks

Hi Judith. I have plenty of well-established pond water, tadpoles, etc and loads of elodea (although not sure this is native). Tel number is 07798698599. Liz

Hi Liz.. Thanks for your reply. Tonight we went up to Keighley Tarn and got a couple of very small buckets just to help our pond on its way. Amongst the plants we managed to catch by accident a water scorpion - so i presume this would prey on the tadpoles? Would you recommend we still take some of your water and leave the tadpoles behind with you..? But we could do with some Elodea ( I looked it up) and not sure if its native or not....

I'm not sure about water scorpions - they certainly don't sound nice. Definitely recommend the elodea, maybe you should leave the tadpoles and let frogs find their way to your pond on their own. It won't take them long at all. GIve me a call if you want to get some more plantlife

Hi Judith
Wondered how your garden was getting on? Give me a call or e-mail me please.
Paul - I've lost Judith's e-mail address - could you forward this message onto her for me? Thanks, Liz
