A special mention is due for teenaged sentry Connor Lyman who stood stock still throughout proceedings and provided a very moving tribute.

The uniform Connor is wearing is a replica of that worn by Patrick Hargreaves' Grandad, Fred Hargreaves of 62 Main Street, Sutton Mill. Fred was enlisted in the 'Kitchener Army' of 1916, into 10th (Service) Battalion, Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding). He served at Ypres, Hill 60, Paschendaele, was wounded, then served in Italy. Battalion Battle Honours there - Asiago 1918; Piave 1918, service till 1919. Unlike Willie Hargreaves and Percy Hargreaves on the Sutton memorial, KIA, fortunately Fred came home.
