Craven District Orchestra c1920

Notes from Yvonne Salt:

(Information given from Kenneth Davy now living in Spain.)
Left to right – Violinist Arnold Davy, Violinist unknown, Pianist Eddie Smith (Smack) Landlord Bay Horse Public House, Leonard Davy (leader of the band), Standing Friend Ratcliffe, Drummer Roy Boothman.

They played/practised in Crosshills in a building now demolished (it is now the parking area behind Tams restaurant and across from the Conservative Club).

Unfortunately the photograph is not dated but as Arnold (Violinist on the left) was born in 1902 I would guess at early 1920s. He is clearly quite young on the pic and Leonard, my granddad, was tied up in the First World War.
