Doris Riley sadly passed away on 13 January 2009. The book is currently unavailable.

A Home Spun Yarn

This book is a home-spun yarn of William Hartley, Worsted Spinner of Hosiery Yarns and Knitting Wool, Greenroyd Mills, Sutton-in-Craven, North Yorkshire.

Sorted, blended and pieced together with history, buildings, owners, valuations, old and new photographs, experience and reminiscences.

In 1980 the firm closed, making the Authoress and 174 workers redundant.

Many requests have been made to the Authoress to write another book concerning the village, including those who find them helpful in tracing family history.
